When Casper Van Dien and dumb blonde extraordinaire Kristen Miller team up to battle an ancient giant in a made-for-Sci-Fi-Channel film, the question is not whether or not the movie is going to suck. It’s how much the movie is going to suck. As it turns out, the answer is just what I expected.

Quite a bit.

Casper Van Dien’s played a crippled criminal, James Dean, and a concerned father in the past. With The Fallen Ones, you can add archaeologist who doesn’t shave everyday to that list. His Matt Fletcher character has been hired by a rich industrialist to search for artifacts in the time leading up to the construction of a resort on the land. After the introduction of the plucky female (Miller) who Dien of course goes from hating to loving, as a rival consultant, they unearth an giant alluded to in the Old Testament. That’s obviously not a good thing.

The Fallen Ones is a criminally boring and uninteresting film. It plods on and on, occasionally throwing up some awful CGI creation, and never really manages to be entertaining.

And that’s all I’ve got to say about this one.
