Don’t you just love it when animation studios solicit voicework from b-list celebrities?

When you hear the voice of someone like Will Smith, who lent his voice to last year’s Shark Tale, you’ll most likely be able to connect the dots as to whom the voice belongs to. But when it comes to direct-to-video, non-Disney, animation, the rules change. In comes proud paycheck cashers Brooke Shields, James Woods, Joe Pantoliano, and Nancy Kerrigan to the rescue. While the fifth billed Sandra Bernhard has a voice that will linger in your mind forever, occasionally making you wake up screaming, the other four are so nondescript that unless you take a look at their names on film’s boxart, you’d not even realize whose voice you were hearing.

The film Easter Egg Adventures itself doesn’t do much to stop me from classifying this as a b-cartoon either. It’s about a group of conniving Takits, the term for evil animals living in the depths of the forests, who steal Easter eggs from the residents of EggTown; Eggtown, of course, being comprised of the chickens and rabbits responsible for the world’s Easter egg production. So now Good Gracious Grasshopper and his buddies have to go into the forest to get the eggs back, all while a horny teacher tries to get with a bumbling school headmaster who has a crush on her.

The Polish-done animation isn’t exactly beautiful either. The entire movie appears to have been done by hand on the account of the low budget.
Those under four feet tall need not apply. Trust me, don’t.
