Dirty Shield
Release Date: 20 September 2005 (USA)
Genre: Action
Director(s): Juney Smith (Fake Preacher, Clockin’ Green)
Writer(s): Juney Smith (Kickin’ It High, Lost Money)
Starring: Erika Flores, Tomas Maldonado, Alberto Suarez

Nice try Juney Smith, but you’ve once again produced an average urban film that is entirely forgettable.

There are points in Smith’s Dirty Shield where the action gets strong and the story becomes engaging. But then there are plenty of long sequences comprised of two-bit dialogue spoken by bad actors. Dirty Shield is not the first movie of Juney’s to have that problem. That cancer has inflicted all five of the Juney Smith film I’ve seen.

In this uninteresting tale of police corruption where characters frequently curse just for the hell of it, a detective (De La Raza) loses his partner when a stakeout turns deadly. Depressed and seeking revenge, he joins up with the Robbery Squad, which has a reputation for being corrupt. He eventually must decide between what’s best for him and what’s best for the city.

Dirty Shield isn’t worthless, but then again, it’s certainly not worth your time.
DVD: Barebones.
