Bells of Innocence
Release Date: 6 April 2003 (USA)
Genre: Horror
Director(s): Ali Bijan (Seduction of Innocence)
Writer(s): Chris Bessey & Mike Norris
Starring: Chuck Norris, Mike Norris and Carey Scott

The direct-to-video Christian film starring a washed-up, usually “born again” actor.

The Omega Code and its sequel had Casper Van Dien. Left Behind and its sequel had Kirk Cameron. And now, Bells of Innocence has Chuck F’n Norris.

And Norris isn’t even playing a former Vietnam vet sent to take out a cartel of cocaine smuggling Satanists here. Nope, he’s essentially playing a disciple of God in an evil town that doesn’t really exist. Since this is a Christian movie, it’s no surprise that our three fish out of water main characters are introduced to this town when their plane goes down while on their way to Mexico to… Deliver bibles? Now, with the only the power of their faith (or something), they must defeat the evil people while Chuck Norris stands around delivering dramatic lines.

Written and starring Norris’ son Mike, Bells of Innocence makes for acceptable family fare for the parents of kids too uncool to be invited out on a Friday night, but nothing more. The production values are pretty good, but that’s the extent of the film’s true positives.

Director Ali Bijan is truly a great Christian, having directed and produced the softcore porn effort Seduction of Innocence ten years ago.
The world needs another vigilante asskicker Chuck Norris, not this crap.
