Art of Murder
Release Date: 1999
Genre: Thriller
Director(s): Ruben Preuss (Almost Dead, Dead on Sight)
Writer(s): Sean Smith & Anthony Stark (both of The Dogfighters)
Starring: Joanna Pacula and Boyd Kestner

There’s not much one can say about Art of Murder. It’s that typical semi-erotic thriller that, with a few seconds of editing, could be shown on Lifetime tomorrow. There’s an affair, a crazy male, and a woman implicated for a murder she didn’t commit that searches for the real killer.

As for the real plot, what we’ve got is artist Elizabeth (Pacula) finding a way to deal with her raging alcoholic of a husband; have an affair. Makes sense. While things go well with Tony, a business partner of her husbands, things take a turn for the worse when a slimy photographer shows up for some blackmail. Her situation gets even worse when the blackmailer is killed, which leads us to Elizabeth burning down his home. Eventually the implication for the murder she didn’t commit comes.

It’s not titillating, and the plot probably won’t win over anyone who reads this website.

DVD: Barebones.
