Release Date: 2003
Genre: Romance|Comedy
Director: Agustin (Carlito’s Angels)
Writer: Agustin (Carlito’s Angels)
Starring: Agustin

Prior to directing and writing the mostly unfunny Carlito’s Angels, Agustin started his career off with a worthwhile romantic comedy that, unlike most low budget films with an urban twist, has an original idea behind it.

3 Play, originally under the not-so distribution friendly Love = (Me)^3, has a main focus that answers the age-old question, “Wouldn’t it be great to have two girlfriends?” That’s exactly what Tony Morales, played by Agustin himself in a convincing matter, is getting the opportunity to experience. While he doesn’t see anything odd about it, everyone around him certainly does, whether it is the envy had by other men or the dismay by his irate parents. They have a fulfilling relationship together, complete with the usual bantering that goes on between typical couples. Only here, there are three of them.

As you’d expect with a romantic comedy, problems arise between the three, a break up happens, and eventually, Tony tries to win them back.
The acting is tolerable, the writing is better than what was present in Carlito’s Angels, and overall, it’s decent enough.
